Kathryn Aguirre Worth Memorial Scholarship

The Scholarship was established to honour the memory of Kathryn Aguirre Worth, an American attorney with White & Case LLP, who was on board the ill-fated Silk Air flight MI 185 on 19 December 1997. This scholarship is funded by the Kathryn Aguirre Worth Memorial Foundation.

Terms of Award

The scholarship will provide a stipend up to US$25,000 to defray tuition fees only for graduate studies at a US law school. The award excludes general expenses.

Eligibility
The scholarship to be awarded in 2021 is open to NUS LLB graduates from the classes of 2014 to 2020 who will pursue an LLM degree at an accredited law school in the United States.

Method of Application

1. Please download a copy of the application form.
2. Where the space provided in the application form is insufficient for the requested information, you should type the information on an attachment. Indicate clearly the item number for which the information is provided.
3. You should provide certified true copies of awards, commendations, prizes and other certificates that you have been awarded. You are also requested to submit a transcript of your university examination results.
4. Your application and supporting documents should be addressed to “The Selection Committee for the Kathryn Aguirre Worth Memorial Scholarship” and submitted in soft copy* via email to lawlink@nus.edu.sg.

Recommendation letters should be similarly addressed, and the signed letter may be emailed directly by the referee to the same email address, or mailed to the following address:

Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend interviews by the Selection Committee. Tentatively, interviews will be held in May - June 2021.

The Organization does not base its selection in any way on the employment status of the applicant or any relative of the applicant. Relatives of members of the selection committee are not possible recipients. There will be no restrictions or limitations in the selection procedures based upon race or the employment status of the prospective recipient or any relative of the prospective recipient.
