Course Description:
This course will initiate the student to the basics of Indonesian law (adat law, Islamic law, legal pluralism, constitutional law, administrative law, civil law, judicial process) as well as to other aspects that are of concern to foreigners (foreign investment laws and protections, regional autonomy, mining laws etc.). It will also address some of the problems relating to law enforcement in Indonesia.

Mode of Assessment: Class Participation - 15%; Pass or Fail 2500 word assignment - 5% & 3-Hr Take Home Exam - 80% [Release: Tue, 18 April 2023 (4pm); Due: Tue, 18 April 2023 (7pm)]
Preclusions: Exchange students from law schools in Indonesia and post-graduate students who are graduates of law schools in Indonesia are precluded from taking this course for credit.
Prerequisites: NUS Compulsory Core Law Curriculum or equivalent
