Chinese Intellectual Property Law

Course Description:
This course will cover advanced topics on Chinese Intellectual Property Law, which will be roughly divided into three parts, namely, (1) general part, (2) copyright law, (3) trademark and unfair competition. It will focus on legal issues of high theoretical or practical value, providing a comparative law perspective to students who wish to better understand cutting-edge IP issues happening in China but worthy of attention of the whole world. It is not a general introduction or survey course on Chinese IP Law. The seminars will be conducted mainly in a Socratic way. At the end, the students are expected to write a research paper of high quality on topics discussed in class.
