Non-Law Modules

For Cohort AY2014/2015 and after:
4-Year LL.B. students are permitted to read any non-law modules offered by other faculties up to a maximum of 12MCs; subject to the pre-requisite/criteria (if any) of the non-law module, and the conditions listed below.
Notes:
1. Students are allowed to read up to 12MCs of non-law modules without seeking approval from Vice Dean (Academic Affairs). Any credits approved beyond that will be pro-rated to 12MCs for calculation of Class of Honours.
2. Out of the 12MCs, only one (1) may be a Level-1000 module (regardless whether the modules are graded or otherwise). Any additional Level-1000 non-law module will neither be counted towards fulfilling the credits required to complete the LLB degree, nor will the grades and marks be used for the calculation of Class of Honors. Students will be required to make up their total number of credits for the LLB degree in order for it to fall within a range of 160 -164.
3. Students are not allowed to read non-law modules for credits in Special Term Part 1 & Part 2 without seeking the approval of the Vice Dean (Academic Affairs). Please forward your appeal to lawundergrad@nus.edu.sg.
4. Students taking non-law modules must ensure there are no clashes in the class and assessment schedule with their law modules. Students are advised to regularly check the websites of their respective non-law modules for any updates.
5.

Students who are interested in reading a non-law module for enrichment will have to write in to Vice-Dean (Academic Affairs) for approval. The grade will be reflected on the transcript but the module will neither be counted towards fulfilling the credits required to complete the LLB degree, nor will the grades and marks be used for the calculation of Class of Honours. Students are expected to attend all the lectures/seminars/tutorials and to complete all assessments as required by the module. Please forward your appeal to  lawundergrad@nus.edu.sg

6. More details on the non-law modules can be found on NUSMods or the host faculty/department websites.
